We have exciting news to share!
The Danish Ministry of Higher Education and Science has approved the establishment of our Nordic Master in Visual Studies and Art Education (NM NoVA) double degree program between Aalto University and Aalborg University!
Our new NM NoVA continues the legacy of former NoVA by offering a renewed and even better program that educates contemporary art and visual culture professionals and researchers with a transdisciplinary understanding of the best Nordic practices and traditions in art education and visual studies. NM NoVA builds novel competencies and pedagogical interaction skills for working in and with cross-cultural and international audiences, communities, cultural institutions, organisations, enterprises, NGOs, projects, and individuals. The purpose is to provide students with visual design thinking skills for initiating changes to existing cultural, learning, and organisational practices.
In NM NoVA students will spend one full academic year in both universities and in the end receive two MA degrees: one from Aalto and one from Aalborg.
The first NM NoVA students will start their studies in 2023. The admission processes are handled separately by each university. Admission information for both universities will be published in early September 2022.
Stay tuned for NM NoVA website and social media for more information about the program!
NM NoVA planning and implementation is funded by The Nordic Council of Ministers.
